Archie Bray

These photos are from a trip to the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. The Archie Bray houses artists in residence, community classes, and a clay business that serves Helena and the state of Montana. Originally a brick factory, the brick making business was bought out by a Canadian company that wanted to mothball the entire operation. Ultimately, the brick making was suspended but not before a group of artists secured the grounds and facilities for what would become an internationally known center for ceramic arts. Check them out at www.archiebray.org

This selection of photos focuses mainly on a portion of the brick making facility and some of the old beehive kilns. This was a photographic dream, as there was almost no place I could point my camera that didn't look good.
